20.3. Ten administrator habits

  1. Test every sign-in change in a private window first

With your working session still open in the other window.

  2. Configure mail before you create accounts

It turns account creation into self-service.

  3. Grant by group, never by name

The single largest reduction in ongoing admin work.

  4. Grant Admin to as few people as possible

There is only one admin level, and it sees everything.

  5. Always finish onboarding with the entitlement grant

The account is not usable until you do.

  6. Transfer workspace ownership before deleting an account

Otherwise you inherit an ownerless workspace.

  7. Terminate sessions before revoking access

Otherwise the open session keeps working.

  8. Change one performance value at a time

And write down what you changed and when.

  9. Check Sync Monitoring monthly

A silent backup failure is only silent until someone needs the file.

  10. Ask “one person or everyone?” before diagnosing anything

It halves the search space instantly.

Note

This is Document 2 of 2. Everything your users do is in QuantaCloud for Users, which administrators should also read — most support questions are answered there. Screens described here reflect QuantaCloud as of 4 September 2026.
